Karen Haeger

I am a native of Spokane, married to a Spokane native, so we have deep roots in our community. I slowed my hairdressing career down to focus on grand kids and bring attention to Daybreak Youth Services. When our son, Justin, was 22 he died of a methadone overdose. For several years, Ron and I put on a race in his memory , with the proceeds benefiting Daybreak. Daybreak is an in and out-patient facility for kids ages 10 to 18 that are struggling with mental health issues, and drug and alcohol addictions.

Bob Scarfo

Business: Land and LIfe, LLC

I've always wanted to know about people. As a landscape architect I strive to identify and merge people's personalities with their environments: whether single family home, neighborhood park, healing garden, or small community. If individuals or groups identify with and find meaning in their surroundings they will be more comfortable and more caring. Getting there requires a merging of the spirit of the place with the spirit of the residents.
